On-chain trading platform Thunder Terminal fell victim to an exploit, resulting in the theft of 86.5 ETH (equivalent to $192,000). ZachXBT, an on-chain sleuth, revealed in his Telegram channel that the attacker had already transferred the stolen funds to Railgun. Thunder Terminal assured its users that their private keys were not compromised and that only 114 out of over 14,000 wallets were affected. The platform was able to stop the attack in under nine minutes. A note left by the attacker on the blockchain claimed that Thunder Terminal’s previous statements were lies, and that they possessed all user data, which they would delete for a ransom of 50 ETH. Thunder Terminal has not yet responded to inquiries from The Block regarding the incident.
