Residents of the Tyumen region are losing interest in cryptocurrencies

Yota cellular provider reports that interest in cryptocurrencies has dropped in the Tyumen region – in May this year, traffic on cryptocurrency topics collapsed by 76% compared to the beginning of the year.

According to the operator, digital currencies are most interesting to Tyumen residents aged 23-36. In 2022, this segment accounted for 57% of total traffic, and in 2023, the share of such users declined by 3%.<br

Tatyana Volkova, a certified financial advisor and investor, said that interest in cryptocurrencies is directly related to the news background. We are talking about reports of a possible default in the U.S., which led to an influx of funds into cryptocurrencies;

However, when U.S. authorities raised the debt ceiling, cryptocurrencies became less interesting for investors. Regulatory pressure on digital assets is not unimportant. This makes cautious investors stay away from cryptocurrencies.

“We will likely see the same volatility in the cryptocurrency markets before the end of 2023, because there are several processes going on simultaneously. The first is the regulation of crypto-exchanges at the legislative level, and it will continue. The second is the resistance to the introduction of this asset in a number of countries: they fear that they will lose control over the economic sphere due to the decentralization of finance.. There are two opposite trends: mass penetration of cryptocurrencies and resistance to them at the same time, so the volatility will remain, but in general there is an upward trend,” said Tatiana Volkova.

In April, the Russian Center for Internet Technologies (ROCIT) presented the results of a survey, according to which only 7% of Russian residents bought cryptocurrencies.<br
