Flashbots co-founder Alex Obadia announced on Twitter that he was leaving the company of his own volition. In his farewell letter, he talked about Ethereum vulnerabilities, specifics and the firm’s prospects.

Flashbots aims to mitigate the negative effects of MEVs popularization in Ethereum. The organization launched in 2020, and Obadiah was behind it.

Yesterday, June 20, he publicly announced on his Twitter page that he was leaving the firm. Obadiah cited “personal reasons” as well as “different opinions among management” to explain his departure.

He attached screenshots of an email sent to Flashbots employees to the post. In it, he notes the company’s achievements, but also emphasizes some “serious problems” that lie ahead for both the organization itself and the Ethereum ecosystem.

In particular, Obadiah believes that the network remains highly susceptible to censorship. And Flashbots, designed to “fight evil,” could become it itself:

“We have now become the “king of the mountain,” and now we need to protect the system from ourselves, lest we become the Moloch we fight.”

Aboutia was listed as a “founding manager” at the company. He was the head of the strategic division of the. In his farewell address, he said that his values and experience would be useful “elsewhere.” Recall that in May, the number of nodes in the Ethereum network subject to OFAC censorship dropped to 27 percent. This is largely due to the activities of Flashbots.
