The daily volume of transactions in Base has passed 550,000

  • The Base blockchain has seen an increase in activity.
  • Daily trading volume, number of transactions and ether inflows into the ecosystem have increased.
  • The public version of the mainnet is expected to be released in August 2023.

According to DEXScreener, in the last 24 hours, trading volume on the Base blockchain reached $245.3 million and the number of transactions passed 550,000. Developers have promised to launch the blockchain mainnet to the public in early August 2023.

At the same time, the price of some coins available on the network has jumped significantly. Over the course of a day, the TOSHI token exchange rate rose 22,422%, BASED – 24 million%, BEAN – 42,487%, MONK – 32,483%, according to the portal.

Remember, the developer version of the Base mainnet was released on July 14, 2023. However, no official bridge between the blockchain and the Ethereum ecosystem has been added to the network.

In its place, users have access to the portal proxy contract. According to Dune, Base contributed $64.4 million worth of airtime in this way. The jump can be seen in this chart:

The increased excitement is presumably due to a previous announcement from the Coinbase exchange. The publicly available version of the mainnet is expected to be released as early as early August 2023.

As a reminder, the project’s developers are considering adding zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) to the network. It’s costly, but in the long run more reliable, the organization said. Base also added support for the LayerZero project. This integration is intended to serve as the foundation for a seamless blockchain infrastructure.
