  • A hacker seized control of Tornado Cash with a malicious offer
  • He received 1.2 million votes
  • Binance temporarily stops accepting TORN deposits

One of the developers of the Tornado Cash community, confirmed the above events, he stated:

“This morning there was an attack on the protocol.

All day long another community developer and I have been wondering what to do, but the situation is close to hopeless – now the attacker controls Governance.”

The team is currently looking for Solidity developers who can help save the protocol from extinction.

They also said they needed contact with Binance because the exchange has more tokens than the attacker.

The Tornado Cash attacker received a total of 483,000 TORN from the Tornado Cash management vault. 385,300 TORN sold and exchanged them for 375 ETH. About 97,000 TORN he did not use in any way.
