Virginia Beach Tornado Video Mentions Satoshi Nakamoto

  • The story was about a natural disaster in Virginia Beach
  • The county was hit by a tornado and several houses were destroyed
  • A video of this was published by a local resident;
  • The video was used by journalists, with the author demanding that a reference to Satoshi Nakamoto be added
  • Such an interesting “Easter egg”

On Monday, May 1, CNBC aired a report on the disaster in Virginia Beach.. The county was hit hard by a tornado.

But here’s another interesting thing: the video mentions Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious “father” of Bitcoin.

The original video is available here. In the upper right corner you can see the inscription “Satoshi Nakamoto”.

It turns out that this was the only condition of the author of the video before it was published in the media.

The video was shot by user “Lauren of Light”. She describes herself as a bitcoin enthusiast as well as a coach. This is how she commented on the posting of the video:

“Damn it, I did it! Yes!”.

Further, she explained how that came about:

“I posted a video of a tornado that hit us hard on Sunday (April 30). Journalists liked the video and asked to use it for a reportage.

I allowed it, but on the condition that it must mention Satoshi Nakamoto. They agreed.

While the tornado damaged several homes and left 2,000 people without power, there were thankfully no casualties.

While you, Satoshi Nakamoto?

This is one of the great mysteries in the cryptocurrency community. On April 23, 2011, Nakamoto effectively abandoned his work on Bitcoin, switching “to other things.”

His birthday is believed to be April 5, but that’s not certain. It’s an alias attributed to programmer Craig Wright.

He has sued major service providers many times and done extraordinary things to prove his authorship, but so far without success.
