Founder of Terraform Labs accused of using fake passport

The Montenegrin prosecutor’s office has alleged that Do Kwon, the founder of Terraform Labs, made and utilized counterfeit identification documents, including a fake passport.

This revelation was reported by DL News. Kwon reportedly attempted to fly from Podgorica to Dubai using the fraudulent documents last month.

The allegations could jeopardize the efforts of US and South Korean authorities to extradite Kwon, who is accused of several counts of fraud in both countries, and is linked to the downfall of Terra in May 2022.

Kwon had been on the run from Interpol for several months before being detained at the Montenegrin capital’s airport on March 23rd.

He purportedly attempted to use a rented private jet and a counterfeit Costa Rican passport to flee.

The Serbian police have also seized a Belgrade duplex worth €2.2 million, where Kwon had been hiding for six months before his arrest.

Kwon’s associate, Han Chang-Joon, purchased the apartment while on the run.

Kwon allegedly established a company in Serbia for less than $1 in March, a few weeks after Interpol listed him as an international fugitive.

Kwon and Han are believed to have used their Korean passports to register the company, which is still operational.

Furthermore, Kwon hired the Serbian law firm Gecic Law to represent him.
