Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, recently received a significant amount of money in the form of airdropped tokens. A whopping 2.08 million EIGEN tokens were sent to one of Sun’s wallets, known as “Justin Sun 4.” This development has caused quite a stir in the cryptocurrency community, given Sun’s controversial background.
Interestingly, Justin Sun was the second-largest holder of Ethereum staked on EigenLayer, with a total of 104,000 ETH directly staked and an additional 58,000 ETH staked through Puffer prior to March. While the EIGEN tokens have been airdropped, they are currently non-transferable. However, in some pre-launch markets, these tokens are already trading at $7.84 each, indicating that Sun’s stakes could have earned him around $16 million. In total, Sun had staked an impressive $470 million worth of ETH on EigenLayer.
The Eigen Foundation has stated that the tokens will become transferable at a later date, with September 30 being the targeted timeframe as mentioned in a Telegram message. It’s important to note that this information should not be considered as investment advice.
