Adidas and BAPE Unveil Limited Edition Sneaker NFT Auction

American company Adidas, along with Japanese streetwear brand BAPE, announced the auction of a limited edition sneaker linked to non-interchangeable tokens.

The auction will begin on August 22 and will be open to the public. The minimum bid for a lot on the Adidas Collect website should be 0.3 ETH (about $548).

The auction will last 72 hours and close on August 25.

An NFT owner will be able to get the physical sneakers along with a digital copy on the Adidas Collect website on Sept. 26. In total, Adidas and BAPE intend to release 100 pairs of shoes.

Each pair of sneakers will have an NFC chip so the wearer can access a digital certificate of authenticity.

In April, popular sportswear brand Puma teamed up with digital designer Wagmi-san to release a digital version of its sneakers in the form of non-interchangeable tokens.

Nike in April first released non-interchangeable tokens on the .Swoosh platform. The theme of the new collection will be Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.
