Red Granite Pictures Launches Non-Fungible Tokens Collection Based on The Wolf of Wall Street

Red Granite Pictures has recently made an announcement regarding the launch of a unique collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on their hit movie, The Wolf of Wall Street, which was released in 2013.

These NFTs are priced at $100 each and come with exclusive privileges for their owners, such as access to props, costumes, the film’s soundtrack, and invites to theme parties.

The company sees this launch as a marketing strategy to encourage people to watch the movie again, thereby boosting streaming revenue. Moreover, it’s also a way to safeguard their intellectual property.

According to Red Granite CFO Randy Hermann, the profits from the sale of tokens will be directed towards charitable organizations, including those that promote film restoration, support young filmmakers, help women and minorities working on Wall Street, and teach financial literacy.

Red Granite Pictures was founded in 2010 and has released several other movies such as Dumb and Dumber 2, Dying Light, and Hello Dad, New Year!

However, the company declared bankruptcy in 2018 due to its involvement in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) sovereign wealth fund scandal.

This move by Red Granite Pictures follows the trend of NFTs gaining popularity in the entertainment industry.

Recently, The Smurf’s Society released an NFT collection based on the popular Smurfs animated series, which features both old and new characters.

Additionally, Madonna’s iconic underwear, worn during her performances in the 1980s, is also set to be sold as an NFT collection.

Car manufacturer Bugatti and luxury goods company Asprey have also announced their own limited edition NFT collections.
