Maggi to Issue NFTs for Culinary Recipes in OneRare Foodverse Metaverse

Maggi, a Nestlé Group brand that produces food seasonings, is set to launch its own unique non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the OneRare Foodverse metaverse.

The Indian branch of Maggi has partnered with the OneRare project to create NFTs in the form of recipes for a variety of culinary dishes that use Maggi Noodles, Maggi Masala-ae-Magic, and Maggi Hot & Sweet spices, ranging from simple noodle recipes to classic Indian dishes.

By leveraging blockchain technology, OneRare co-founder Supreet Raju believes that NFTs have the potential to revolutionize the food industry by bringing iconic collectibles to life in the virtual space.

Rajat Jain, Head of Nestlé Food Products in India, is hopeful that digital business transformation will open up new ways to interact with customers and believes that entering the metaverse will allow the company to stay up to date with the latest innovations.

Fast food giant McDonald’s has also entered the NFT space by tokenizing its “iconic” dishes. Nestlé has previously worked with digital innovation, implementing the IBM Food Trust platform to track coffee supply chains in 2020.

Rajat Jain sees the NFT launch as a way to provide people with a unique culinary experience, regardless of their skill or experience, within the metaverse. Thus, it can be said that the culinary industry in India is going through a digital transformation.
