Texas A&M Professor to Launch Bitcoin Research Institute

Texas A&M University is set to launch The Bitcoin Research Institute, according to Korok Ray, an Associate Professor at the Mays Business School. The institute aims to drive academic research at the intersection of Bitcoin and artificial intelligence (AI). Ray believes that Bitcoin has the potential to enable secure multi-party computation (MPC), with examples such as poker players agreeing on the state of a game. He also envisions deep integration between machines and the Bitcoin network in the future. The institute will bring together researchers and faculty to explore advancements in AI and their connection with Bitcoin. Ray also highlighted the potential rise of Chaumin mints for scaling bitcoin payments and the need for secure prediction markets enabled by Bitcoin. The institute aims to leverage the legacy of academic achievements in computer science to drive innovation across various sectors of the economy.
