Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao asked employees to “keep their mouths shut”

  • This is according to an internal memo from the CEO
  • In it, he commented on the leaked emails between employees that came to the attention of the SEC
  • All those displeased Zhao pointed at the door and suggested they think about their careers

On June 8, Odaily Planet published a memo to Binance employees from the company CEO. In it, Changpeng Zhao asks to “watch your language,” as any leaked information could be used in court.

Full text of the memo can be found at. Here we’ll highlight just a few interesting points.

In the beginning, Zhao refers to a leak of internal company correspondence.. You can read it here. In the messages, Binance employees discuss, among other things, “draining” BNB before the rate dropped and boasting about operating in the US without a license.

Zhao commented:

“First go to the link (attached in the original memo). As you can see, even though this was a “private” conversation between two employees five years ago, it did considerable damage to our (and their) reputation. I want to remind everyone that Binance is cooperating with investigators. They will ask for your chat history first. Anything you say can appear on the internet or in the courtroom.”

Zhao also said that they don’t usually check internal correspondence. He also criticized the SEC’s position of using the private conversation as an attack on the company.

For those “dissatisfied” with Binance, he suggested they “talk to their manager” and think about their careers.

According to reports, exchange employees received the memo right after the lawsuit was filed against the company. As a reminder, the firm considers it unlawful and intends to defend its position in court.
