Binance Withdraws from Canadian Market Due to Regulatory Environment

Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, said it is joining other prominent cryptocurrency firms and “proactively” withdrawing from the Canadian market.
This is due to the regulatory environment in the country.

Representatives of the company noted that the volume of trading by customers from Canada was not too large.

But Binance has always been “sentimental” about this country, because the founder of the exchange Changpeng Zhao (Changpeng Zhao) is a citizen of Canada.

“We would like to thank those regulators who have worked with us to protect and meet the needs of Canadian users. We had high hopes for the Canadian blockchain industry.

Unfortunately, the new regulatory mandate makes this market less suitable for our company.

We delayed this decision while we looked for possible and reasonable ways to protect our Canadian users, but it became clear that there were none.

All Canadian users will receive an email with details of what to do.

We don’t agree with the regulatory policy, and we are confident that we will return to this market someday and that Canadian users will once again have free access to a wide range of digital assets,” the exchange said on Twitter.

Earlier, the popular decentralized exchange dYdX also restricted access to its platform for Canadian users.
