‘Big Short’ Investor Calls Crypto One of the ‘Great Themes of Our Time,’ But He’s Not a Believer

‘Big Short’ Investor Dismisses Crypto as a Speculative Game

In a recent televised interview, Steve Eisman, famous for his successful bet against the U.S. housing bubble, gave his take on various investment themes, including cryptocurrency. Eisman, however, expressed skepticism about the future of digital currencies.

Eisman, whose story was featured in the book and movie adaptation of “The Big Short,” spoke about the upcoming U.S. election and shared his thoughts on the Federal Reserve and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted three major themes shaping our era: AI, infrastructure, and crypto.

While Eisman believes in the first two themes, he made it clear that he does not believe in crypto. When discussing cryptocurrency, he questioned its nature as a currency and pointed out that its correlation with the Nasdaq is significantly high. Eisman sees crypto as nothing more than a speculative asset that allows people to bet on speculation.

Despite his skepticism towards cryptocurrencies, Eisman remains upbeat about the potential of AI and the need for technological advancements in everyday devices. He advises investors to approach emerging technologies and market trends cautiously, basing their decisions on a careful analysis of common facts.
