Empowering Developers: Fantom Network Launches dApp Gas Monetization Program

  • The dApp Gas Monetization program has been launched on the Fantom network
  • Some app developers can now count on 15% of gas fees
  • The initiative aims to support developers and accelerate the scaling of the ecosystem

Fantom co-founder Andre Cronje announced the launch of the ecosystem gas monetization program on Sunday, May 28.

The initiative aims to support developers of the most popular apps and stimulate demand for block space.

We note that the “dApp Gas Monetization” program was adopted back in early January. Its main goal is to divert the majority of network fees to apps as an incentive.

Developers of the most popular dApps will receive 15% of the generated gas fees. This will simultaneously support developers, attract new users and add value to FTM, the network’s native token.

“Monetizing gas is ready. Develop, Place, Earn,” said André Cronje.

With the adoption of the initiative, the FTM burn rate will slow down, from 20% to 5%.. So it’s up to the developers to further scale the ecosystem.

After the program went live earlier this week, some projects have already paid dividends.

So, for example, the exchange SpookySwap earned 1007 FTM from royalties for gas, that is about $ 340.

However, it should also be noted that not all projects can count on such a “cashback. Read more at the link.
