LayerZero Token Airdrop Rules Unveiled, Initial Transactions Rewarded 3x
LayerZero Labs CEO Bryan Pellegrino has announced the rules for the upcoming LayerZero token airdrop, with a focus on benefiting early participants. Those who engage in the airdrop early on will receive triple rewards for their initial transactions. In addition, participants who make at least three transactions in the later stages of the airdrop will receive an additional 50 tokens. The airdrop is expected to benefit 594,641 participants, with most receiving between 50 and 250 tokens.
A notable aspect of the distribution strategy for LayerZero (ZRO) tokens is that 23.8% of the total supply will be allocated directly to the community and builders, bypassing platform and development allocations. This direct approach aims to foster community growth and engagement.
To combat Sybil attacks, LayerZero has implemented strict measures. Suspected attackers are given the choice to confess and receive 15% of their expected airdrop or risk total exclusion and potential public exposure of their wallet addresses. These measures aim to maintain the fairness and integrity of the airdrop process.
LayerZero has gained recognition for its innovative protocol that enables the interconnection of various blockchains without the need for intermediaries. The protocol is currently being utilized by projects such as Stargate and Radiant Capital. LayerZero recently secured $120 million in a Series B funding round, with investments from prominent firms including Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital. This funding has further solidified LayerZero’s market position.
However, the airdrops in the blockchain industry have recently faced controversies, and LayerZero is not exempt from this. The upcoming zkSync airdrop, scheduled for June 17, has raised concerns among the community, regarding criteria and distribution fairness. The issue of Sybil attacks has also tainted the perception of airdrops within the community. To address these concerns, ZK Nation has issued clarifications to ensure transparency and fairness in the upcoming airdrop.
