Promoter of crypto project HyperVerse detained in the USA

Florida police apprehended an individual, widely known in the cryptocurrency community as BitСoin Rodney, for his alleged involvement in promoting the HyperVerse project and defrauding American investors through a fraudulent investment scheme.

Rodney Burton was arrested following a request from the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), who accused BitСoin Rodney of actively endorsing the HyperVerse crypto investment scheme, which also goes by the names Hyperfund, HyperCapital, and HyperNation. It is estimated that the stolen funds amount to approximately $8 million.

As per the initial investigation, Rodney Burton spearheaded a network of promoters who conducted numerous promotional events for the fictitious crypto project across the United States. Prospective victims of the crypto scheme were lured with promises of daily passive rewards ranging from 0.5% to 1%, until their initial investment was doubled or even tripled by HyperVerse.

IRS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agent Andrew Accardi revealed that Burton received a sum totaling $7.8 million through over 500 wire transfers.

A previous report by the Guardian revealed doubts regarding the existence of Steven Reece Lewis, the CEO of the now bankrupt decentralized crypto platform HyperVerse.
