- Analytics company Crystal Blockchain has provided Incrypted with a report on the volume of cryptocurrency donations to support Ukraine.
- Since February 22, 2022, $225 million in donations have been received. During the same period, the aggressor country managed to raise about $2 million.
Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has received $225 million in crypto-donations. This was reported by Crystal Blockchain experts in a new report provided by Incrypted.
According to it, in June 2022, three months after the war began, the total amount of donations amounted to $135 million:
As the graph shows, the number of cryptodonates has been gradually decreasing over the past months. The most donations came in March 2022 and the least in July 2023.Humanitarian initiatives collected more donations than military ones between February 2022 and July 2023 – $134 million vs. $91 million:
The most popular is USDT ($83 million), followed by ether ($79 million) and bitcoin ($41 million):
Also, Crystal Blockchain analysts provided statistics on cryptocurrency donations in support of the aggressor country. About $2 million was raised to support Russia’s military action against Ukraine, experts have calculated:
In August 2022, the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Digitization, Mykhailo Fedorov, said that Ukraine had spent $54 million from cryptodonates to buy weapons.
In February 2023, we covered Chainalysys’ report regarding donations in support of Ukraine. The figure at the time was $70 million.. With about 80% of donations coming in during the first months of the war, the agency said.
