Strike Expands Global Presence, Introduces Plastic Cards with Stablecoins in 65 Countries

  • Provider Lightning Network will operate in 65 countries
  • And will issue plastic cards with stabelcoins

Payment company Strike announced plans to expand its global presence. They are moving their headquarters from Chicago to El Salvador, a country where bitcoin is legally accepted.

First, to expand the company’s presence in the world of cryptocurrencies. And second, to safeguard against growing pressure from U.S. regulators.

Chief of Strike Jack Mullers spoke at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami. There he announced plans to move.

“Two years ago people would have laughed at me if I had suggested moving our headquarters to El Salvador.

But now that Coinbase is fighting Gary Gensler, who will laugh?”

From now on, the app can be used by citizens of new countries, including India, New Zealand, Bhutan, Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, Paraguay and Uganda. In the future, Mullers plans to expand his company to 65 countries.

For now, Strike only offers users access to bitcoin transfers. At the same time, the company is working on the introduction of new banking functions and the issuance of a plastic card.

They will appear as early as 2023. In addition, the app will offer the ability to pay in U.S. dollars via the stabelcoin USDT.

In early May, Strike introduced a new API based on Bitcoin Lighting. It sends transfers directly to bank accounts in dollars.
