The queue of validators for launch on the Ethereum network has grown to its highest level in almost 4 months

  • The backlog of validators waiting to join the Ethereum network is steadily increasing.

  • The peak number of validators in the queue reached approximately 100,000.
  • The estimated wait time to add a new validator has risen to nearly 48 hours.

The number of validators waiting to go online on the Ethereum network has reached its highest level since October 6, 2023. As of February 12, 2024, there were 7,045 validators in the queue.

The time it takes to add a new validator has increased to around 48 hours at the time of writing, with a peak wait time of over 45 days.

CoinDesk spoke with David Lowant, FalconX’s head of exchange research, who mentioned that the surge in staking activity on Ethereum is a positive sign of its renewed viability.

It is important to note that the number of active validators in the network continues to grow, currently standing at 936,838.
