World Coin Introduces Cryptocurrency Wallet App

The company World Coin, co-founded by one of the creators of artificial intelligence, on the basis of which there is a chatbot ChatGPT, introduced a cryptocurrency wallet application with the same name.

The wallet will initially support the World Coin and Ethereum ecosystems. The World App mobile wallet app is already available for download  in the App Store and Google Play.

World Coin is available in more than 80 countries.

During the beta testing phase, the app was downloaded by over 1.5 million users and 500,000 users stayed active for a month, completing 60,000 transactions.

The creators of the wallet insist that they’re not going to charge users for using World Coin.

“World App manages to abstract away a lot of complexity while maintaining important features like self-control and privacy,” says Tiago Sada, one of the developers.

The World Coin cryptocurrency wallet is the first mass-produced product of the Worldcoin project. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman  co-founded Worldcoin in 2020;

Recently U.S.-owned PayPal payment service Venmo, which has more than 60 million customers in the U.S. alone, said it will add cryptocurrency transfer capability.

In April it became known that the cryptocurrency wallet Chivo, which is managed by the government of El Salvador, began freezing user accounts and requiring proof of source of funds.
