The criminals who attacked an unemployed resident of Tomsk and stole BTC from him in the amount of 360 million rubles were detained. Soon they will be judged by the Kirovsky Court of Tomsk.

The attack took place in October 2021. When the victim left the house, one of the perpetrators was already waiting for him.. Threatening him with a gun, he entered the miner's apartment, and later an accomplice joined him. Law enforcement agencies managed to detain one of the suspects in St. Petersburg. The offender pleaded guilty and returned part of the stolen money – 35 million rubles.

Later, his accomplice was also caught.. Both attackers turned out to be residents of Tomsk. The regional prosecutor's office charged them under part 4 of article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Robbery committed by a group of persons on an especially large scale”). They face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million rubles.

“Acting in a group of persons by prior agreement with an accomplice, the criminal case in respect of which is separated into a separate proceeding, they attacked a man in the entrance of a residential building and took him to the apartment. Threatening with an object resembling a gun, the attackers forced the victim to enter the personal account of the cryptocurrency exchange and transfer 86 bitcoins to them, ”the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

In addition to bitcoins, the criminals also stole a laptop and cash. The total amount of damage was about 360,460,000 rubles. It is interesting that 90 bitcoins were stored on the wallet of the Tomsk miner, but the attackers did not take everything.

Recall that in 2021 there was another high-profile case – $1 million in USDT was taken away from a Moscow crypto trader.
