An exhibition of NFT projects CryptoPunks and Autoglyphs will be held in France

The National Museum of Modern Art of France is planning a new exhibition with collections that focus on the relationship between traditional art and blockchain.

This is the first time that the museum, which houses the masterpieces of such outstanding artists as Wassily Kandinsky, Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse and Marc Chagal, has decided to exhibit collections of non-fungible tokens (NFT).

According to preliminary data, the exhibition will feature NFT projects CryptoPunks and Autoglyphs, as well as the work of 12 more digital artists.

“The partnership with the Pompidou Center, one of the most iconic contemporary art museums in the world, means that crypto art is rightfully recognized by the industry as an important art movement,” the future exhibitors said in a joint statement.

CryptoPunks tokens issued on the Ethereum blockchain have become one of the most famous and popular NFT collections with a circulation of 10,000 copies.. Autoglyphs, a generative art project from Larva Labs, the original creator of CryptoPunks, is rarer and contains only 512 NFTs.

In 2022, a rare NFT CryptoPunk #5822, which is an image of a bandana-wearing punk alien, was sold for 8,000 ETH, which at the time was worth $23.7 million.
