The total hashing speed on the Bitcoin network on May 23 was 367.07 EH/s. Given the processing power of only 750 TH/s, the lucky miner had one chance out of 489,000 to successfully mine a block.
With the current difficulty of mining the first cryptocurrency, a solo miner has the ability to find a block once every 9 years.
The miner is a member of the Scrol solo mining pool, which charges a 2% commission for the services provided. He will also receive a transaction fee, which on this block was 0.249 BTC ($6,700).
In March, a Russian resident, who controls 0.002% of the total Bitcoin network hashrate, managed to mine a block of 780,112.
According to him, the hash rate of his equipment is only 270 TX/s (most likely 3 ASIC miners), but he has rented additional capacity of 5 Px/s.
And last year, a single Etherium miner received 170 ETH for mining a block.
