Polkadot Files Trademark for Blockchain-Based Mobile Messaging App

Polkadot, the blockchain-based project, has recently filed a trademark application for a unique mobile messaging application that is powered by blockchain technology.

The application has been submitted to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), positioning Polkadot as a “level zero blockchain.”

If approved, the trademark will be known as Polkadot Converse. The software in question is designed for social networking, enabling users to create, manage, and interact with online communities, and to send and receive electronic messages, graphics, images, and audio content.

Should the application be approved, Polkadot will be one of the trailblazers in incorporating Web3 technologies into social networks and instant messaging services, thus changing the way we use these platforms.

This will be a significant shift from Polkadot’s current focus on enhancing transaction speeds in its blockchain.

The project’s main feature is the deployment of parachains, which were launched on the network in December 2021.

Just a few months ago, Bits.media founder Ivan Tikhonov explained the nuances of staking and parachains in the Polkadot ecosystem.

At present, the DOT coin holds the 11th position in terms of cryptocurrency market capitalization, valued at approximately $7.5 billion.

According to former licensed trademark attorney (USPTO) Mike Kondoudis, the organization received over 6,000 trademark applications last year, with many relating to NFTs and blockchain.
