$2,300,000,000 Cash Handout Coming to Residents in This US State, if Governor Has His Way: Report

$2.3 billion is set to be distributed to residents of Alaska in the form of a cash handout, according to reports. Governor Mike Dunleavy has proposed allocating this substantial amount from the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) in an effort to help people cope with the effects of inflation. If approved, each resident would receive approximately $3,400 by simply filling out a form. The PFD, established in 1980 and funded by oil and mining revenues, aims to provide financial assistance to Alaskans during these times of rising prices. This move by Governor Dunleavy is part of his $10.5 billion budget proposal for fiscal year 2025, and it marks the largest expense within the plan. The PFD has been in operation since 1982 and is seen as Alaska’s version of a basic income program.
