2 Phishing Events Lead to Substantial Losses for Altcoin Holders, Warns PeckShieldAlert
Recently, two separate phishing incidents have occurred, resulting in significant financial losses for those affected. PeckShieldAlert, a respected company specializing in blockchain data and security analytics, has shared the details of these scams through its official social media channels.
One of the incidents involved an address labeled “0x73A0…52DF,” which fell victim to a phishing attack carried out by the account named “#Fake_Phishing361733.” The attack led to the loss of approximately 61 $WETH tokens, valued at around $213,000. This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat of phishing in the cryptocurrency industry.
In the second incident, a different address labeled “0xe7e9…fa01” was targeted by another phishing attack, known as “#Fake_Phishing187019.” The victim reportedly lost a substantial sum of 114,138.9 $TYPE coins, which had an estimated value of $87,000. Similar to the previous occurrence, the exploiters likely utilized deceptive tactics to manipulate the victim into compromising their security.
These phishing events demonstrate the importance of remaining vigilant in the cryptocurrency space, as attackers continue to find ways to exploit unsuspecting users.
