4.2% of the world’s population owns cryptocurrencies

TripleA conducted a large-scale study of the crypto industry. It shows that in May 2023 the number of owners of cryptocurrencies reached 420 million. This is approximately 4.2% of the total population.

The five countries with the most crypto users are:

  • USA (46 million).
  • India (27 million).
  • Pakistan (26 million).
  • Nigeria (22 million).
  • Vietnam (20 million).

As a percentage, a different picture emerges. Analysts have analyzed the percentage of ownership of cryptocurrencies from the total population of the country. It turned out that in the U.S., about 13% of citizens use digital money, and in Vietnam, more than 20%. In Ukraine, the figure was more than 10%. This means that more than 3.7 million of our countrymen own cryptocurrencies.

From 2015 to 2023, the price of the main cryptocurrency BTC rose by 173,000%.. And the record annual growth rate was 2021, when the rate jumped 60%.

TripleA predicts that the cryptocurrency market will grow by about 56% per year. And with it, the acceptance of digital money. For example, more than 95% of U.S. merchant companies said they consider the implementation of cryptopayments their priority. And brands that started accepting such payments saw a 327% increase in ROI. Also, the number of their customers increased by 40%.
