50+ Beribit Depositors Storm Office Claiming 400M+ Refunds: Report

50+ Beribit depositors stormed the office on April 26, demanding refunds totalling over 400 million rubles. The customers claimed that they were unable to withdraw their funds from the Russian crypto exchange and gathered to protest the issue. As a response, the office employees attempted to escape through the backdoor but were blocked by the angry crowd. The police were called, and the employees eventually agreed to repay 50% of the investment and facilitate the withdrawal of the remaining amount within 1-15 days. However, a circulating video revealed that the customers were only given promises and chocolates. In the midst of this turmoil, the State Duma legislators introduced a bill proposing a ban on crypto exchanges in Russia, allowing only registered mining firms and transactions. Additionally, the bill would prohibit advertisements promoting cryptocurrencies. In a statement, Beribit announced that they will be conducting a thorough balance sheet audit to address any inconsistencies.
