The Game4Ukraine charity soccer match will take place on Saturday, August 5, in London. The sporting event is held as part of the UNITED 24 initiative in support of Ukraine. In addition to airing on sports channels, the event will be shown in the meta-universe. The organizers of the virtual match screening are startup Improbable and Global Fan Network.
The main goal of Game4Ukraine is to raise a minimum of £1 million ($1.27 million at the time of writing). All funds raised will be used to repair and build schools destroyed during the war. The first to be rebuilt will be the Mikhailo-Kotsyubinsky Lyceum, damaged by Russian missiles in March 2022.
The blue and yellow teams, consisting of world soccer legends Claude Makelele, Fabio Cannavaro, Joe Cole, Antonio Valencia and others, will meet on the pitch of Stamford Bridge Stadium. Captains will be UNITED 24 platform ambassadors Andriy Shevchenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Since the start of the war, Ukraine has raised $225 million in crypto-donations – 100 times more compared to Russian Federation. This data was provided to our editorial board by Crystal Blockchain analysts.
Incrypted is also actively involved in raising funds to support the country. In February, we partnered with the UACatsDivision initiative to create the first charitable NFT collection featuring WSU hero cats.
