On the margins of the Cheboksary Economic Forum, the deputy said that many companies that work with cryptocurrencies are looking forward to legalization in Russia. But, Aksakov warned, transactions will begin to be tracked and there will not be “complete freedom.. It is quite possible to use cryptocurrencies for international payments. According to Aksakov, a package of laws on regulation of cryptocurrencies should be adopted in October of this year.

“Cryptocurrency will be legalized.. Its movement will obviously be under serious control so that there will be no abuse. “Cryptocurrency dealers want to be legalized faster. They are ready to work in the legal space, because foreign banks are sometimes afraid to cooperate with Russian banks and carry out settlements with Russia,” the deputy explained.

Aksakov assured that already in July four bills related in one way or another to cryptocurrencies are expected to be adopted in the first reading.

Earlier First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Olga Skorobogatova warned that in some situations the authorities of so-called unfriendly countries may block cryptocurrency transactions of Russian companies. The official did not explain exactly how this might happen.
