While Ethereum investors and the entire cryptocurrency market are eagerly awaiting the SEC’s decision on the spot Ethereum ETF, there is speculation about the timing of the announcement.
According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, he predicts that the SEC will approve ETH ETFs and estimates that the decision will be announced at 16:00 New Jersey time (UTC 08:00). This translates to an expected announcement time of 23:00 GMT.
Balchunas drew from the SEC’s previous announcement time for the spot Bitcoin ETF, which was made at 22:45 Turkey time. Based on this, he anticipates a similar time frame for the spot Ethereum ETF decision.
Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart also concurs with Balchunas’ prediction, stating that the decision will likely be announced closer to market closing time. He expressed confidence that the decision will be made before 6 pm the following evening.
It is worth noting that earlier this week, the SEC reached out to stock exchanges and ETF issuers, leading Bloomberg ETF analysts to increase the likelihood of ETH ETF approval to 75%. As a result, Ethereum experienced significant growth.
Today, the SEC will announce its decision on VanEck’s spot Ethereum ETF application.
