Atomic Wallet published a hack report in early June

  • It doesn’t know how the hacker carried out the attack
  • But claims that the number of victims does not exceed 0.1% of all users
  • The investigation continues

Atomic Wallet published an official report on its Twitter page last night, June 20, about the early June hack. The service claims that the number of victims is about 0.1% of all users.</nbsp;

Also Atomic Wallet actually admitted that it still does not know the cause of the hack:

“None of the proposed options has been confirmed as a factor that caused the failure, at least in recent versions of the app.”</nbsp;

The service administration noted that the security infrastructure has been updated.. And assemblies are checked by external auditors, the company, however, did not name them.

And they confirmed that they will continue to work with law enforcement agencies and experts from among the community to find the perpetrators.. You can read the full statement at the link.

What is known about this hack so far?

It took place on June 3.. Atomic Wallet users’ accounts were attacked, some of which were completely depleted. At first it was $30,000, then $100,000.”

Two days later, the stolen goods began to be withdrawn through a mixer.. According to Elliptic, Lazarus Group is behind the hacking of the service, and most of the funds were deposited on the Russian cryptocurrency exchange.

The Atomic Wallet statement described above is the company’s first appeal to its users since the incident.
