Binance has launched the NFT AI generator. The previous one was called plagiarized

  • The Binance exchange has re-launched the Bixel tool. It is an AI-based image generator, which can then be converted into NFTs.
  • At the same time, the exchange has organized a raffle for the top 10 authors. Each of them will receive 1 BNB. The works will be selected by voting after August 10.

From July 26, 2023, all KYC verified users of the Binance platform will have the opportunity to test Bixel. It is an AI-based image generator that can then be released in NFT format on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network.

The exchange also announced a raffle with a prize pool of 10 BNB (about $2300) to be shared by the top 10 authors. To participate, you must create an NFT using Bixel and post it on the Bixel Challenge page.

The drawing runs through August 10. Winners will be chosen by community voting.

The fee per token minte is 0.008 BNB (about $2). The new tool is exclusively available to users who have completed KYC verification.

In conjunction with the launch of Bixel, the exchange has added several new features:

  • 10 chances to generate free. Note, “interactions” are spent not only when creating a new NFT, but also each time additional variants are selected;
  • no multiple styles to choose from;
  • generate different variants of the finished image.

Plagiarism allegations

Remember, Binance first introduced this tool in early March 2023, but under a different name – Bicasso. Later that month, the exchange opened the functionality to its first 100,000 users. Both times the response to the novelty was quite high, the company said.

It is noteworthy that after the launch of the beta test of the tool, the organization was accused of plagiarism. A user under the pseudonym ggoma claimed that Binance simply stole the generator idea from the BNB Chain hackathon.

The exchange commented on the situation, brushing off the accusations. The organization said Bicasso was developed before the competition. But then all mentions of the tool were removed from the platform’s website.Earlier we reported that Binance started tagging high-risk volatile assets. This is necessary to familiarize users with the potential risks.
