Binance starts teaching crypto-security to Taiwan Criminal Investigation Bureau employees

Security specialists from the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance held a one-day training event in Taipei for 200 law enforcement officers in Taiwan.

Binance’s Law Enforcement Investigations and Training team put together a curriculum for the Taiwan Bureau of Criminal Investigation, where police officers looked at emerging trends in cryptocurrency crime and shared the results of their own practices in combating cybercrime.

“Protecting users is a top priority for the Binance exchange, and much of this work requires active engagement with law enforcement around the world. We understand that effective security is a collaborative effort,” explained Jarek Jakubcek, head of law enforcement training at Binance.

.
The international law enforcement training program was launched by Binance in September 2022. In the first five months of 2023, the department conducted about 50 in-person and distance training sessions. The demand for specialized cryptocurrency training is growing along with the acceptance of cryptography in the world.

Legal experts said the other day that enforcement action by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against the largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, would force the site to move its operations to Hong Kong.
