Bitcoin 2023 Conference Attendance Dips Amid Bear Market and High Ticket Prices

  • From 35,000 to 15,000 guests
  • Some of the shows on the first day were barely a quarter full
  • Low attendance was attributed to a “bear” and high ticket prices
  • The cheapest ticket cost $999

Miami hosts perhaps the most important event of the cryptocurrency community, Bitcoin 2023 from May 18-20..

Only the first day of the conference met the few guests with empty chairs.. And organizers attribute the drop in attendance to the bear market.

According to the official website, the 2022 event drew more than 35,000 visitors. Among the invited guests were sports stars as well as representatives of the “whales” of the global market.

But this year it’s different.. Organizers expect the event to attract about 15 thousand people. But the real numbers could be even lower.

One of the attendees, Andre Hicks, commented for Decrypt that the drop in attendance was visible “with the naked eye.

The fact that this year there are fewer people, he explained not only the fall in the BTC rate, but also inflation. Some people simply can’t afford such a trip.

We note that a regular ticket for Bitcoin 2023 cost $999. But the Industry Pass is $2299. The situation is well illustrated by photos from the first day of the conference.

Earlier in the day we reported that MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor was in attendance. In a press comment, he said the company was interested in Ordinals.
