‘Bitcoin Enthusiast’ Trump And ‘Dogecoin Fanatic’ Musk Skip Bitcoin Mention in Their Historic Debate; BTC Price Unaffected Near $60k

Bitcoin had a remarkable week in July when the former president headlined the industry’s annual Bitcoin conference in Nashville, delivering the keynote address. Now, with Elon Musk and Trump’s recent discussion/debate on X, the crypto community was hopeful for a mention of Bitcoin. Despite their significant presence on social media platforms like X, Trump’s return to Twitter is perceived as an attempt to regain his momentum in the race, considering his extensive follower base.

Musk, the owner of X (previously Twitter), has committed to donating $45 million per month to a super PAC supporting Donald Trump leading up to the election. This endorsement is a major show of Musk’s strong support for Trump’s potential return to the presidency.

However, the duo opted to focus more on issues such as immigration and inflation. At the Nashville conference, Trump’s recent shift in stance towards cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, was evident as the former president made promises like dismissing Gary Gensler.

During his time in office, Trump was a vocal critic of cryptocurrency, denouncing it as a “scam” without value. However, he has since reversed his position, expressing his ambition to make the U.S. the “crypto capital of the world” and the “Bitcoin superpower of the globe.”

Trump’s newfound embrace of cryptocurrency is part of his broader appeal to innovation and technology, attracting support from entrepreneurs and crypto CEOs. By accepting Bitcoin directly into his campaign, Trump has already raised millions of dollars, showcasing the financial potential in courting the crypto industry.

The industry responded positively to Trump’s speech, leading to Bitcoin reaching a six-week high following his remarks. Nonetheless, there is still some skepticism among crypto enthusiasts, resulting in mixed reactions on social media platforms like X.
