  • Users will be able to trade BTC, ETH, USDT, EURT and XAUT on the platform
  • Mobile version to be released later this year

The Bitfinex cryptocurrency exchange announced the launch of a Peer-to-Peer platform in three Latin American countries, namely Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela

The platform allows customers to trade directly in BTC, ETH, EURT, USDT as well as the gold-linked XAUT token. Users can choose the payment method and use the local currency of their choice.

Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Bitfinex, said:

“We are pleased to announce the implementation of Bitfinex P2P in Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia. By providing a reliable and efficient P2P token exchange platform, we offer our customers the opportunity to interact with the market in a convenient way that best suits their needs and requirements. We believe in the power of bitcoin and expanding access to innovative financial technology around the world.”

A mobile version of Bitfinex P2P is scheduled for release later this year, which, among other features, is aimed at improving the customer experience. This mobile version will allow customers to trade cryptocurrencies “on the go.”

The launch of Bitfinex P2P in Latin America, particularly in Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia, is the latest step in a string of activities aimed at increasing access to financial services related to digital assets in the region. In May 2023, for example, Bitfinex announced its investment in leading Chilean crypto exchange OrionX ahead of its expansion into Peru, Colombia and Mexico.
