Bitfinex Responds to Attack Attempt, Shuts Down XRP Rumors

Bitfinex, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has responded to an alleged attack attempt and shut down rumors involving XRP. Speculation arose when a large transaction, allegedly transferring almost half of XRP’s total supply, was traced to a single wallet and sent to the exchange. This raised concerns within the crypto community, as such concentration of assets could pose risks to the market. However, Bitfinex’s CTO, Paolo Ardoino, clarified that the attack attempt failed and that the exchange was able to handle the situation appropriately. The circulating supply of XRP is approximately 54 billion, and the transaction in question was almost half of that supply. The rumors also coincide with the speculation of an XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) potentially being approved, which further adds to market concerns. It’s worth noting that XRP has previously been the target of false news reports.
