Earlier, the Central Bank of Singapore gave Blockchain.com preliminary approval for the relevant license. The company will now be able to “provide regulated digital payment token services to its global institutional clients and accredited investors.”
“Singapore represents a large and lucrative trading hub for Blockchain.com, including in the OTC markets. It is also the city where our Southeast Asia headquarters is located,” the platform said.
There are currently over 90 million cryptocurrency wallets open on the Blockchain.com platform. The number of verified users has surpassed 40 million and transaction volumes have reached $1 trillion.
It was previously reported that cryptocurrency marketmaker Wintermute is also expanding its office in Singapore.
