Botanix Labs is at the forefront of revolutionizing Bitcoin, expanding its capabilities beyond being a mere digital currency to become a programmable layer that underpins the future of finance. Their innovative approach involves creating Spiderchain, the first fully decentralized EVM-equivalent L2 solution on the Bitcoin network. By leveraging Bitcoin’s security and decentralization through Proof-of-Work (PoW) as a base settlement layer, combined with a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus model, Spiderchain enables secure staking of Bitcoin through a network of decentralized multisigs, allowing anyone to stake their BTC.
To realize the vision of Spiderchain, Botanix Labs required advanced solutions, including engineering assistance, Layer 2 design expertise, and high-performance RPC node operations. Furthermore, Ankr and Asphere will deploy and manage a global network of Spiderchain nodes, offering public and private endpoints for developers to connect to the blockchain. The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) connections will be crucial, enabling developers’ wallets, command-line interfaces, and decentralized applications (dApps) to interact seamlessly with the Spiderchain mainnet nodes.
