Cardano Hits 96M Transactions Milestone, IOHK Unveils Key Ecosystem Updates for ADA Growth

Cardano Sets New Record with 96 Million Transactions, IOHK Shares Exciting Updates to Support ADA Growth

In a remarkable milestone for Cardano, the project has reached a staggering 96 million transactions in just one week, demonstrating its immense popularity and global interest. The latest report by IOHK highlights the vibrant ecosystem, with 1,373 projects currently being built on the network. Additionally, there are over 84,000 Plutus scripts deployed, contributing to the overall growth of the platform.

The IOHK report reveals that Cardano’s on-chain activity remains consistently high, with the recent implementation of technical upgrades sparking renewed enthusiasm within the community. The record-breaking number of transactions places Cardano among the largest networks in the blockchain space.

IOHK’s report also sheds light on other impressive figures, including the deployment of 10.36 million native tokens on the Cardano blockchain. The network now boasts 1.33 million delegated wallets, and users have created 165,546 token policies. These numbers reflect the ongoing expansion and utilization of Cardano’s capabilities.

Furthermore, IOHK announced the deployment of a new upgrade that prevents stake credentials from withdrawing rewards if they are not delegated to any DRep and solely backed by a key hash. The core ledger team focused on debugging, ensuring the smooth functioning of the platform.

The performance team, on the other hand, made significant strides under node v.9.1.1, creating a local tool to replicate the observed increase in UTXO-HD RAM usage. They pioneered a new performance baseline named ‘Age of Voltaire’ and commenced testing the adjusted Nomad backend.

Cardano has entered the age of Voltaire, shifting governance responsibility entirely to DRep members who register to become decision-makers. Intersect MBO, an organization inclusive of IOHK, led this transition. IOHK urged members of the Cardano ecosystem to actively participate by applying to join the committee and board. The application period closes on September 27, and Intersect MBO has been publicizing the names and bios of applicants as they come in.

In terms of development updates, the Mithril team focused on decentralizing the signature orchestration, implementing a buffer store for individual signatures that arrive before processing by an aggregator. They also refactored the state machine. In parallel, they prepared for the next distribution and investigated a breaking change introduced in a Hydra CI dependency.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson delivered a keynote presentation in Tokyo, discussing the decade-long advancements made in Cardano and blockchain technology as a whole. He shared insights on the lessons they have learned, the progress they have made, and the promising future that lies ahead. Hoskinson will continue his engagement with a keynote presentation on fourth-generation cryptocurrencies at Token2049 in Singapore on Wednesday.

Despite a marginal dip in the past day, ADA is trading at $0.3492, demonstrating a 3% increase on the weekly chart. With continuous development and growing transaction volume, Cardano remains one of the most promising projects in the cryptocurrency space.
