Celestia runs a light node in user’s browser when using TIA block explorer

Celestia’s unique approach to spreading awareness involves running a light node in users’ browsers when they use the TIA block explorer. This means that every user becomes a temporary node operator, contributing to the security and decentralization of the Celestia network. The light node feature in the Celenium block explorer allows users to easily start running a light node without requiring high-level resources or overloading their computer. Unlike browser mining, Celestia’s light node can be switched off at any time and doesn’t provide any TIA rewards or require staking. The Celestia Data Availability layer serves as an intermediary between L2 and Ethereum, offering scaling services and the ability to break out of the limitations of their block size. While Celestia still relies on its list of validator nodes for verification, it aims to build a scalable Data Availability layer by propagating up to 1GB in block space. The upcoming token unlock for TIA poses a challenge for Celestia, as it will expand the circulating tokens by 83.3%, leading to concerns about market absorption. However, early backers and seed round investors may still see significant gains from the project’s success. Additionally, locked TIA tokens can be staked for additional rewards, and the tokens will also find demand from chains that use the Celestia Data Availability layer for data services.
