Check Your Wallets: Bitcoin Ordinals Runestones Are Being Airdropped

Beware: Runestones, the unique Bitcoin ordinals, are being airdropped to a whopping 112,000 wallets. NFT historian and Runestone spokesperson, Leonidas, alerted the cryptocurrency community to this exciting event on Twitter. To participate in the airdrop, collectors must visit the Ordi Inscription marketplace’s Bitcoin Ordinals platform and enter their wallet address, sorting by newest. Leonidas emphasized that this airdrop is a decentralized, volunteer effort, with contributions from over ten different companies in the Ordinals ecosystem. The airdrop will consist of 81 batches of 1,400 Runestones, which will be mined and distributed to members of the year one Ordinals community over the next 48 hours. Leonidas reminded the community that these Runestones were earned through participation in Ordinals, with no team allocation or pre-sale. As the airdrop began, batches of 1,400 Runestones were steadily inscribed and sent out, with 76 more batches to go within approximately 24 hours. Behind the scenes, Runestone partner Ordinalsbots is contributing to the smooth execution of the airdrop, while Ordinals marketplaces like Magic Eden and Ordinalswallet work on enabling secondary market trading of the inscriptions. Leonidas also mentioned that there is no shame in selling Runestones, as everyone has different financial circumstances. Buyers and sellers alike are encouraged to partake in secondary trading, with Magic Eden already facilitating such transactions. Notably, The Runestone, the largest ordinal inscription, was recently auctioned off for 8 BTC (approximately $572,973), marking a significant milestone for the Runestone community. With great enthusiasm, Leonidas concluded by expressing his honor and excitement to be “getting stoned” together with the Runestone community.
