COZ releases Neon Wallet 3 with new multi-account, multi-network paradigm

COZ has just released Neon Wallet 3, a new version of its self-custodial wallet that offers a range of improvements and features to enhance the user experience. This version is compatible with both desktop and mobile platforms and includes support for Neo X.

Getting started with Neon 3 is easy for new users. They simply need to download and open the application, set up their first multi-account wallet by choosing a master password, and save a BIP-39 seed phrase. They can then create new accounts for Neo N3, Neo Legacy, Neo X, or Ethereum.

Existing Neon users will need to follow a migration process. By opening the previous version of Neon, they will be prompted to migrate their accounts. They can create a migration file, which can later be imported with Neon 3.

Once users install the new version and select the migration option, they will be prompted to set a single password for the migrated accounts. They can choose which accounts to import and provide the respective passwords used in Neon 2. The migrated wallet will then be ready for use in Neon 3.

In the initial release, Ledger hardware wallet users will need to create a wallet before connecting their device and opening the corresponding app. This will enable Neon to detect the device and display all derived addresses with token balances. An anonymous login option will be added soon for Ledger users to skip the password login step.

Neon Wallet 3 introduces a revamped design, starting with the Portfolio page that offers a comprehensive overview of all accounts, token balances, and price estimates. The Wallets page is where users can manage accounts across various networks and customize them by labeling and coloring.

The accounts sidebar allows users to control and manage NEP-17 and NEP-11 balances, claim GAS, and explore transaction activity. It also enables connections with dApps supporting WalletConnect, such as Neo governance portal, Flamingo, and Forthewin decentralized exchanges.

The Send and Receive pages remain functionally equivalent to the previous version. The Contracts page is shared across all wallets and accounts, enhancing its usability.

The Settings menu includes options for configuring Neo X and Ethereum networks, along with tweaks to the security panel to support the new global password feature.

More information on the update and migration process can be found on the official COZ website.
