DeFi Farming Game ‘Crypto Valleys’ Is Giving Players Juicy YIELD on Ethereum L2 Blast

DeFi Farming Game ‘Crypto Fields’ Is Offering Players Lucrative Returns on Ethereum L2 Thrust

Gaming activity is thriving on the exciting new Ethereum scaler Thrust, and while one game has already been targeted by an exploit on the emerging network, another is generating high praise from players while driving the most-traded token on Thrust.

Crypto Fields is the game in question, and at first glance, it seems to operate similarly to Pixels, the popular farming game on competing scaler Ronin. However, while Pixels offers a robust gaming experience akin to traditional video games, Crypto Fields, at least in its initial form, is focused on enticing DeFi enthusiasts to keep coming back for more gains.

In this web-based game, players purchase NFT-based seeds using the game’s YIELD token, plant them, and eventually harvest the produce to earn even more YIELD. The process can be repeated for continued earnings. Although Crypto Fields has more ambitious plans outlined in its documentation and social media threads, its current version appears simple and streamlined.

To add excitement, the game incorporates “gacha” elements in the form of NFT seed packs with randomized contents. Gacha games, similar to loot boxes in popular games, promise rewards that can range from common to extravagant. The element of surprise fuels the fear of missing out (FOMO) and drives users to open them with their Ethereum wallets, especially when accompanied by a surging token.

As of now, Crypto Fields’ YIELD is the most-traded token on the Thrust platform, with a trading volume of approximately $13 million in the past 24 hours, according to data from DexScreener.

The price of YIELD initially surged to around $17 on Thursday before stabilizing on Friday. However, it has been rising again on Saturday and currently stands at $13.60 at the time of writing, resulting in a market cap of $95 million. The tokens were originally sold in-game for around $0.15 each just last week.

Amid the growing buzz surrounding the game, Crypto Fields distributed a free collection of 1,500 character NFTs that players could mint. These assets are now being traded on the secondary market, starting at approximately 0.4 ETH ($1,350) at the time of writing, with a trading volume of over $4 million so far.

Crypto Fields has drawn comparisons to the earlier crypto game DeFi Kingdoms, which incorporated decentralized finance trading mechanics into a fantasy role-playing game. However, the gacha mechanics, combined with the potential yield opportunities in the booming Thrust ecosystem, have amplified the excitement and satisfaction for players this time around. Additionally, players can earn “Thrust Gold,” special points that contribute to the upcoming airdrop of the Blast network token for users.

Recently, there has been a surge in tweets discussing rare and valuable seeds, as well as sharing farming strategies, within the Crypto Twitter community. It remains to be seen whether players will stick around long enough to witness the maturation of these digital crops and the game itself or if they will quickly move on in search of the next lucrative yield elsewhere.
