EU countries will be able to use blockchain to verify education and work qualifications

Blockchain solution provider Protokol and the EBSI VECTOR project have announced a collaboration to create a decentralized structure for cross-border verification of education documents.

The main purpose of the collaboration is described as a desire to make it easier for EU citizens to verify professional credentials, such as diplomas, qualifications or work experience, obtained in another European country.

The result of the collaboration should be a scalable blockchain solution that can be deployed across the EU, enabling digital interaction between citizens, authorities and stakeholder organizations.

“Our participation in the EBSI VECTOR project is closely aligned with the broader EU program to create scalable blockchain solutions. They enable European citizens to realize their potential. Our work together can have a positive long-term impact on society,” says Protokol CEO Lars Rensing.

Lars Rensing said that a special digital wallet will be offered to EU citizens to record and store digital data, the design of which will allow for secure cross-border document verification.
