Expert Explains Why XRP is Optimal Solution for Real-World Payments

Attorney Deaton recounts how TapJets leveraged XRP to solve the Friday/weekend problem, saying XRP is the choice crypto for payments.

Attorney John Deaton, a pro-XRP lawyer and founder of Crypto-Law, has highlighted XRP’s prowess as a payment method. In a yesterday X post, Attorney Deaton asserted that “XRP is the choice crypto for payments.”

TapJets Leverages XRP to Solve Weekend Problem

He urged crypto enthusiasts to ask TapJets Inc., a private jet service, to explain how it leveraged XRP to solve a real-world problem.

According to Deaton, people who need to fly a private jet are expected to pay the cost upfront, including the pilot, flight attendant, and fuel fees. However, users may encounter issues making payments during weekends as banks do not operate on these days.

Interestingly, Attorney Deaton said XRP solves the Friday/weekend problem, as explained by TapJets in the amicus brief filed in the Ripple case.

“XRP was designed to solve the Friday/weekend problem. TapJets accepts #XRP as a form of payment. In 3-5 seconds, you’ve paid for the costs upfront, and your jet is on standby,” said Deaton.

#XRP is the choice crypto for payments. Ask @TapJets – who field an amicus brief in the @Ripple case – explaining how #XRP was the most popular and most effective currency at solving a real world problem.

Ferrari Confirms Accepting XRP Payments

Deaton asserted while reacting to reports about Ferrari accepting payments in XRP, alongside bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), for its luxury sports car.

According to Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, the car manufacturer added XRP to its list of payment methods due to growing demands from wealthy customers.

Notably, Ferrari selected crypto payments provider BitPay to process all transactions in XRP and BTC. The service will be initially rolled out in the U.S., with plans on the way to expand the offering to Europe.

Growing Acceptance of XRP Payments

The development further buttresses the fact that XRP is going mainstream. The crypto asset is widely used for payments due to its prowess to settle transactions in seconds at a relatively low cost compared to most digital currencies.

As reported earlier, prominent video gaming startup Xsolla partnered with BitPay to enable gamers to buy and play games from top brands like Ubisoft.

BitPay has given crypto enthusiasts the opportunity to spend their XRP coins across top merchants. In August, the leading payments provider noted that XRP users could spend the coin across 28 merchants, including AMC Theatres, thanks to its payments solution.

Besides BitPay, other crypto payment providers have also been driving the widespread adoption of XRP as a payment method. Last month, FCF Pay collaborated with Japanese car manufacturer Honda to enable the public to buy and lease automobiles using XRP.
