GoFundMe has decided to halt further fundraising due to potential risks to the platform, its staff, and clients. Adhering to their own rules, the platform has prohibited the continuation of the campaign.
Within seven working days, all donors will have the $30,000 funds refunded to their accounts, as promised by the platform. Meanwhile, the fundraising efforts have shifted to the JuiceBox site, where donations have already surpassed $890,000.
